Full Description

Ivory Plaque of Mummadi Krishnaraja Wodeyar of Mysore

The Maharaja poses under a swagged canopy in front of an open armchair with looped arms, his right hand rests on a tilt top table with a box and a basket of flowers, against a blue stained background, details picked out in green, black and gilt, in original metal studded frame. The arms of the chair that loop under the backrail and sweep forward from there are a typical feature of Anglo-Indian furniture around 1815.
